LifeGroup FAQ's

What is a LIFEGroup?
LifeGroups are weekly Scripture-based opportunities to relationally reflect upon and apply God's Word, share life's journey, and support one another spiritually.

How Important Are LifeGroups?
Faith Community is a Christ-centered, relationships-based fellowship that meets in LifeGroups to encourage spiritual growth and authentic relationships so that we might follow well… love well… and serve well… LifeGroups are the foundation for our life together here at Faith Community. It is here that we foster spiritual growth through life-giving relationships that we trust will empower and release women and men into service and leadership not just here at Faith Community but in the life of our city and county.

When and Where Do They Meet?
LifeGroups meet on various nights of the week around the county. Most groups meet on week nights.

How Long Do They Last?
Each LifeGroup session lasts 9 to 11 weeks. We have Fall, Winter & Spring sessions. At the end of each session, you will have the choice of staying in the same group, trying a new group or even taking a break. We anticipate that most groups will stay together throughout the entire year.

What is the Required Commitment?
Joining a LifeGroup requires a 9 to 11 week commitment to attend weekly meetings and to prepare, in advance, using the published Resource Guide that is posted online Sunday afternoons. Obviously, allowances are made for sickness, vacation, work conflicts and other special events, but not much more. This commitment is the key to a life-giving LifeGroup. You have the first three weeks to attend the group to make sure it's a good fit for you.

What Will We Study?
Most of the studies are based on the previous weekend's message. These "sermon-based" LifeGroups are not a simple repeat of the Sunday message but a discussion that expands upon one or more of the themes discussed in the message with an emphasis on personal application. It will usually take between 15 and 30 minutes to complete the Resource Guide prior to your LifeGroup gathering.

What Does It Cost?
LifeGroups are not free! They cost time. Time to prepare with the Resource Guide. Time to attend the LifeGroup gathering. Time to engage in life-giving relationships… You have the first three weeks to decide if your group is a good fit for you.

What About Child Care?
LifeGroups are for usually for adults only (college and older). There are a few LifeGroups that will accommodate newborns and/or young children. Please check with your leader before bringing your child(ren). Otherwise, we leave it up to each family to work out their own child care. Sometimes it works best for families to share a sitter or to swap child care with another family whose LifeGroup meets on a different evening.

How Do I Choose A LifeGroup?
When selecting a group, we strongly recommend you choose a group based on its leaders. LifeGroups do best when members share common interests with their leaders, hosts, and other group members. In the end, you'll find it's worth the drive!

Keep in mind that it might take two or three groups before you find the perfect fit, but don't worry, you'll find it!

How Do I Sign Up For A  LifeGroup?
Before each LifeGroup session begins there are three ways to sign up for a group - online, at our weekend services, or by calling the church office during the 2 weeks before each of our LifeGroup Sessions.
