O come, O come, Emmanuel
O come, O come, Emmanuel,
And ransom captive Israel,
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear.
Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel.
O tender Shepherd come and save,
Us by Your rod and staff protect our way;
Lead us through this dark valley of death,
In You we find our peace, our hope, our rest.
O come, Thou Son of David, come and free,
Destroy the power of Satan's tyranny;
From hell's dark grip Your children save,
And give them victory over the grave.
Arise, O Lamb of God, and make things new,
Come wash the tears of those who trust in You;
Let sin and death now be overcome,
That we may hear You shout: "My work is done!"
