Groups @ Faith

CONNECT -> GROW -> IMPACT
You are about to access a collection of opportunities that
promises to create friendships,
holds the potential to change lives, and
possesses the ability to cultivate community.
These opportunities are so diverse that we needed a database to present them to you. Take time to check these groups out...
Let me quickly answer some frequent questions...
Here you will find groups that fall into three main types:
CONNECT GROUPS:
Connect Groups create 'front porch' opportunities that provide a chance to connect with others, build friendships, and have a chance to connect with the wider community here at Faith.GROWTH GROUPS:
These communities foster spiritual growth through Bible study and its practical application. There are 3 types of Growth Groups:1. Bible-based Study Groups:
Study a book of Scripture, a biblical topic (e.g. marriage, parenting, forgiveness, salvation, healing), a biblical biography (e.g. Esther, David), or a book based on Scriptural themes.
Meet on a schedule determined by the Group Leader/s for one season at a time and may or may not continue into additional seasons.
2. D*I*G* (Discover! Immerse! Grow!) Groups:
All study the same book(s) of the Bible and follow the same materials.
Are intentionally spaced geographically around the county.
Meet weekly for two seasons (9 months).
Provide a minimum of 2 service and 2 recreational activities over the course of the 9-months
Expect weekly participation of attending members
3. Outposts:
Informal groups that meet in public spaces around San Diego to read the Bible together.
Each week is a stand-alone study.
Follow the Bible reading schedule in the Faith Journals.
Each group follows a 20-20-20 plan. 20 minutes reading; 20 minutes journaling; and 20 minutes sharing reflections with each other.
Come whenever you can, no preparation, no homework.
IMPACT GROUPS:
These communities care for others through tangible acts of service. Impact Groups exist for the benefit of their non-members.How big are the groups? Our groups range in size from just 3 people to as many as wish to come.
May I invite others to a group if they don’t attend Faith or they do not share our faith? Absolutely! Our groups are open and are designed to be places where we can bring our friends.
How do you choose your group leaders? Each group reflects the passions and interests of its leader. Each of our leaders shares a common commitment to this larger community we call, "Faith Community Church." All of our group leaders have attended training seminars, share our group values, have provided personal references, and have even submitted to a background check. Each leader is resourced by and accountable to our Groups Leadership Team and to our Groups Pastor Liz Groman. In other words we are confident in and excited about our group leaders!
I hope that you will join this adventure called "life" with us!
